I have dedicated myself to the treatment of anxiety and OCD-related disorders. I obtained my PsyD at Pacific University, where I focused my training in the Child and Adolescent Track due to a passion for early intervention for anxiety. Anxious (pun intended) to develop mastery in anxiety treatment, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital’s Obsessive Compulsive and Anxiety Disorders Program, where I became proficient in treating a variety of anxiety and OCD-related disorders. I have over five years of experience treating children, adolescents, and adults anxiety and OCD-related disorders as a licensed clinical psychologist. I also provide psychological testing to evaluate possible attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and specific learning disorder in individuals aged 11 and older. Throughout my graduate and internship training, I enjoyed providing such assessments for youth and adults; it was fulfilling to help others better understand themselves by recognizing their strengths and areas of growth, and I am pleased to continue such work.
I operate from a biopsychosocial model of development, where I take family, biological, social, and cultural factors into consideration with working clients in treatment and testing contexts. My treatment approach is strongly informed by cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). I also incorporate treatment principles and interventions from other evidence-based treatments, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and metacognitive therapy (MCT).
Values that resonate with my professional work include compassion, collaboration, courage, and empowerment. Taking the first step towards treatment or psychological testing is unquestionably brave. It’s important to me that we work together to establish trust so that treatment or testing can feel safe and ultimately be effective and helpful.
